More delays on getting back to smithing...

Well,

Yesterday I was bribed with a nice dinner at a Japenese restaurant.  The King and Queen asked me to come over and discuss having me make a set of thrones for the Kingdom.  For non-SCA types, the Kingdom of Trimaris is esssentially most of the state of Florida.

Anyway, after being bribed with a good dinner, I decided to go ahead and offer to make the next set of thrones.  Part of me really does not want to do it.  I am enjoying the blacksmithing much more than woodworking.  However, I am hoping that if I can get my act together that I can get the chairs done in about 2 months.

This does mean that until that time, the amount of smithing I will be able to do will be fairly minimal.  Oh well...

Back to smithing soon...

Work is starting to slow down and I had a chance to do a bit of prep work on some sconces I am making for gifts.  Specifically, I picked up some electrical coduit (essentially pipe) to use in making candle cups.  The emt is coated with zinc which can be extremely toxic when heated so today I gave the coduit a soak in an acid bath (swimming pool acid).  This removes the zinc from the emt to make it safe for me to work with.  This weekend, I should be able to finally get back to the smithing.

Work again.

I don't expect to get much forge time for the next few weeks as work is keeping me very busy.  However, the Queen (SCA) who is a friend did send me some photos from my elevation.  Here is one of them.  Notice my lovely court garb...  :)
