Getting back in the groove

Spent some time on the forge today and I have no real plans for the weekend.  I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things.

I worked on the kitchen accesory again today (I promise pictures soon...).  However, tomorrow I think I will work on the clock.  I have been idle on that too long...

Glad to see you back. I may finally be able to start building a forge again! (Photos will follow)....

I know that you were working on buying a new house.  Are you able to setup a forge there then?

Yes yes yes yes!  There is a hardpan corner in the backyard, with neighbors that won't mind a working forge. (we sit between a cabinetmaking shop and a hot rod shop.)
So, I am preparing to scrounge smithy pieces as we speak. (I don't have any of the major pieces yet).

If you haven't had a chance yet, check out your local blacksmithing group. If you don't know who it is, look at http://www.abana.org/affiliates/affiliate_list.shtml and they may have it listed.  Your local group should help you get started. And remember, my first forge was made from a brake drum, my first blower was a hair dryer with a rheostat added and my first anvil was a cheap 55# Harbor Freight POS.

Thanks for the information resources- I suppose I should finally join ABANA, now that I am actually going to be smithing again.
Ha! I have those brake drum plans! The only problem is that I got so SPOILED using the gear at Squire Boone's forge, but hopefully, I can avoid the Harbor Freight POS anvil.
